  27-11-2001
The country trusts on the economic potential of the industry.

Brazilian flower growers will receive next year R$ 5 million loans (more than two million euros) as a financial aid for the improvement and technical development of the sector.

Each producer will have access to a credit of R$ 50,000 (something more than 23,000 euros) that they will have to pay back in 5 years with an interest of 8.75%. Next year the government plans to spend more money on the professional training of workers within the floriculture sector, as well as on the development of technological centres.

Brazilian Floriculture Institute´s president, Sergio Pulpo, states that with these financial subsidies the government recognises the importance and the economic potential of the sector.
